Minecraft 1.7.6 to be released this month, 1.8 unknown, and PE 0.8.0 in May

Earlier today Jens from Mojang revealed that username switching would be coming to Minecraft for the PC soon, but that's not the only big news he's sharing. He also tweeted, "FAQ no. 2: Minecraft PC 1.7.6 will be out in March, but 1.8.0 unknown (best guess: May). MC:PE 0.9.0 also unkown (best guess: May)." Not much else to discuss there, but it is interesting that Mojang is pushing 1.7.6 out before the 1.8 release.

For those wondering ,the PC update will have support for the new skin format (with the different layers, among other things) and support for name-changing. Of course we will have to wait until Mojang flips the giant lever in Sweeden to enable name-changing, but it appears 1.7.6 will be the minimum release required to see the updated names.

On a similar note, Jens confirmed on Twitter that he doesn't know when any updates for Minecraft for PS3/PS4/X360/X1. He said on Twitter, "FAQ no. 3: I don't know dates for Xbox / PS3 updates, or release dates of the Xbone or PS4 editions. It's more exciting that way, eh? ;)"

    They have already released realms for Scandinavia, but they've not planning for other countries for a while

    Just to let you guys know they meant to put 0.9.0. If you've been paying attention, you will have noticed that in all of the pictures of 0.9.0 alpha build there is no pause button. Anyone know why? P.S. I think that if they implement sneaking you could hold down the jump button until you began sneaking. Then to stop you would hold it down until you stopped sneaking .

    Because the pause button is only for ios. the android mcpe has no pause button

    Jebkhaile recently posted on Instagram a picture of testificans. Didn't he say that the testificans would be one of the last things they would work on. Doesn't that mean that the update may come sooner than we expected?

    Android doesn't have pause button since you just push back and it will bring you the pause screen but notice the game doesn't actually pause what's going on.

    Mojang's adding more stuff to 0.9.0 then they thought before, so we think MCPE will be released in April-May now.
