Editorial: Which Pocket Edition server is the best?

Minecraft Pocket Edition offers you a large variety of servers to choose from. Perhaps you enjoy playing as the creative roleplayer, an adventurous explorer or maybe a brave soldier. In any of the cases I can assure you there is a suitable server for you. I have done the hard work to play and test more than 20 of the top servers found on MCPE Index, and chosen three to review which I enjoyed the most. The reviews are concise and packed with the most necessary information you should need before playing.

PurplesServer

PurplesServer is one of the largest MCPE servers named after its owner PurpleLouise. At any given time there is an average of 40 players on. It means that most of the time the server slots are all taken and to actually get in and play can sometimes be a bit of a hassle but once you are in it's well worth the wait. Though, it's said they will increase the server slots but it's unknown when at this point.

The large focus on the server is PvP and building. The first thing I had to try out was the PvP possibilities as it was the major reason why I chose to join. I asked for somebody to team up with and a kind soul with the name of jerGo (or something like that) quickly replied and told me he wanted to team up with me. He was incredibly kind and introduced me to the server in general. Actually it's a quite simple layed out server with not too many things to drive you nuts and confused about and the community itself is kind and gentle with newbies as myself it seemed.

All in all it's a kind-hearted server with a friendly staff and players to help out. If you are looking for a long existed and serious server with a particular taste for PvP and building then PurplesServer should be on top of your choices.

Lifeboat Survival Games

This is a server which is a part of the Lifeboat Server Network owned by WilliamTDR. The network consists of more than four servers focusing on survival games, capture the flag, the walls and more. The one that I tried out was Lifeboat Survival Games. If you have ever played Minecraft survival games on PC then you know the drill. First off you spawn in a lobby and from there you can enter a game of your liking by tapping a sign. Next you are taken to the actual survival games and the battle will soon begin.

I was amazed how quickly I managed to join a game and with so many players to compete against. I didn't count but we were at least 15 guys there and for Minecraft Pocket Edition that is many and I know for a fact that there were multiple games going on at the same time. The activity on the servers are as you understand quite amazing and you can basically login at any given time to join a survival server. To me that's great as my play hours are usually during the graveyard shift (early hours of the morning).

Altogether I enjoyed the server. Sure, I didn't win the games but I managed to enjoy much of the PvP by killing a few other players before actually dying myself. You don't need to team up with somebody and you can come and go as you like. If that's the type of server you are looking for then I can assure you that the Lifeboat Survival Games (and their other servers) are worth giving a try.

Porkchop Realms

Porkchop Realms focuses on survival, creative, parkour, minigames and more. As I tested the server it felt more like there were a larger focus on specifically building which is the main reason why Porkchop Realms was chosen as a server to review. A great community needs a good leader. A good leader makes you feel safe and that is exactly what the owner does here. It didn't take long before I was contacted by him (whom I think was the owner or at least somebody on the staff) and he quickly introduced me to the server.

All in all I think Porkchop is one of the best communities out there if you are fairly new and need some assistance to get started in the game. The admins aren't hesitant to help newbies out and the server itself is fairly easy to play on with the commands etcetra. I also got to give them credit for the awesome server name.

That was everything for this time and hopefully you've decided to join one of the three servers reviewed. I hope to come back and make more reviews about mods, maps and servers in the future. Best of luck on your new adventures!

  2. If I try to join a server it ALWAYS says,"Unable to connect to server." I check the IP 3 times and I have not been banned from the server. This happens with all servers I try
