Changes to the forums

Earlier this month we announced our Powered by Redstone forums, a way for the readers of our site to interact with each other. We've been making some small changes since it was announced, so here's a summary:

  1. We just added support for changing your avatar on the forums. Make it whatever you want, from the widget on the right side (underneath the login widget).

  2. We have made some visual tweaks, but a bigger overhaul is still under development.

  3. You may have noticed we added a 'Contests' forum. This is where future contests conducted by our author Adam Easley will accept entries.

We are still deciding if we want to keep the forum or not, but if we do it will replace the current DISQUS comments system. Check out the forums today!

Comments

  1. I think we should keep the forums, they are a really cool thing. Especially for regular readers like myself. (Every single article)

  2. I like the idea of the forums, but I think we should still keep the comments section for people who don't have forum accounts.

  3. Yeah I can agree with that.

  4. What I don't get is what do we need the forums for?

  5. If we keep the forums, we need to tell people how to use them. So far, everyone has been posting in the wrong thread, wrong board.
