Minecraft spotted in advertisement for Microsoft Surface 3 tablet

The ability to play Minecraft is a big selling point for any gaming platform, and Microsoft sure knows it. Toady Microsoft unveiled the Surface 3, a low-end model of the Surface Pro 3 tablet they released last year. The Surface 3 is the first non-Pro Surface device that has a full x86 Intel processor and full Windows - meaning it can run any Windows programs or games. Naturally - that means Minecraft would run. Take a look at the ad (Minecraft is seen around 0:40):

This isn't the first time Minecraft has been spotted in a Microsoft advertisement, when Microsoft showed the potential of their HoloLens prototype device a Minecraft-like game was shown. Although Minecraft has never had a single commercial for the game itself, this isn't the first time it was featured in one.

Ironically, Minecraft is still not on the Windows Store (the app store included in Windows 8 and later). At least while Mojang was independent, Notch was very vocal about Minecraft never becoming certified for the Windows Store.
