First details about Minecraft Movie plot revealed

Months and months ago, it was finally officially confirmed that  Minecraft movie was happening, with It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Rob McElhenney producing the film. Both Mojang and Warner Bros (the studio developing the film) have been extremely quiet about the movie's production. Roy Lee (pictured above), who also produced The Lego Movie, spoke in an interview about the movie.

He explained that Mojang is heavily involved in the production of the Minecraft movie, giving the movie's production staff secret information about upcoming Minecraft features. "They know everything [that] is going to be in the movie, and that can give us insight into future updates," he said. "We can put things into the movie around the same time they relaunch newer versions of the game, and at the same time, potentially taking ideas from the movie and putting them into the game."

He also said to Collider, "Minecraft would be part of a multiverse where humans can enter that has the feel of what the live-action version of a Minecraft experience," he said. "[We're going for] the same target audience as Jurassic World." Your guess about how that's going to work is as good as mine, maybe in the movie some people from our world make a portal to the Minecraft world? The Lego Movie also had a sort of multiverse, with the main characters jumping between different lands including Bricksburg, Wild West, and Cloud Cookoo Land.
