Mojang announced on their company blog today their plans for moving the almost 18,000,000 Minecraft accounts and all the Scrolls and Cobalt accounts to one source. The umbrella for all the accounts will be called 'Mojang Accounts' (simple, right?). The new service to be integrated with Minecraft next year, will use email addresses instead of user names. The company didn't give many other details, but they said that Minecraft users will be able to opt in for Mojang Accounts at first, then they will move all accounts be moved over at an unannounced time.
