Minecraft Pocket Edition has been somewhat of a disappointment for many Minecraft players, paling in comparison to it's big brother on the computer. The Sony Xpheria Play port recieved mixed to negative reviews, and it was even worse for the Android and iOS ports. Lucky for players, Mojang has acknowledged that they did not do a wonderful job, and they are dedicated to making the game better.
Exactly one month from now the Mojang Team will submit an update to Minecraft Pocket Edition to both the Android Market and Apple's App Store. The update is mostly groundwork to add more features, but also adds basic animals (they didn't mention which animals) and new blocks. Hopefully more details will be available when the game's release nears. Check the source link for an apology by Mojang and info about the update.
