The MinecraftEdu project is working hard to bring teachers and students an update to the MinecraftEdu mod, and and update might be coming soon. The update, which is not available yet, is based on the newer Minecraft 1.1 release. The mod adds several changes to Minecraft designed for school use, including a teacher control panel, assignments, stations students can teleport to and from, and lots of other goodies.
Please note that this mod costs $7 for individuals, however there is a 'Lite' version with many features removed (it's almost like a trial that never ends). If you are still interested in this mod, or would like to support them and buy it, click the source link below.
