Here's three awesome things Notch has done for Minecraft

Today is Markus Persson's birthday, the creator of Minecraft and founder of Mojang. He's known as Notch by the Minecraft community, and even though he doesn't work on Minecraft anymore he is still a huge figure in the gaming community. But where other companies wouldn't have even blinked, (coughcoughEAcough), Markus turned them down. Standing against monopolies - Back when Windows 8 was new, Notch publicly stated that Minecraft would not be available on the Windows Store. Minecraft Style music video to be remastered by CaptainSparklez, hopes to keep it on the channel

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWJAbN62yxg CaptainSparklez, one of the most popular channels for Minecraft Let's Plays as well as Minecraft-themed music videos, had one music video taken down a few months ago. The video in question was named 'Minecraft Style' and was a parody of the internet sensation 'Gangnam Style'. The music video was taken down from YouTube by it's copyright holders, due to similarities in the instrumentals with the original music video. Jordan Maron (CaptainSparklez's real name) has tried numerous times to unblock the video, but has ultimately failed. This is due to the copyright holders continuing to reinstate the claim, and due to a bug in YouTube that disallows him from continuing any further. The video remains on YouTube, but in the form of hundreds of reuploads by fans. Minecraft Pocket Edition 0.8.0 Beta 4 released, closer to final release

As you may have picked up from our review of Beta 2, the Pocket Edition betas are not for the faint of heart. They are far buggier than the PC Snapshot builds, less polished, and they tend to crash. Thankfully since we wrote that review, two more beta builds have been released to beta testers everywhere. I've played around with Beta 3 and 4 for a few hours, and everything is noticeably better. There are far less bugs, and I haven't crashed once. Even though all the betas since Beta 1 have only had bug fixes, they are still fantastic updates from Beta 1. If you have been eager to try the beats but scared of the bugs, I recommend you take the jump. But if you are still on the edge or can't use the betas, don't worry because it looks like Pocket Edition 0.8.0 is nearing completion. Source: Twitter
