RedstoneModder to be discontinued September 3rd, get it while you can

A really long time ago I made a modding utility for Minecraft called RedstoneModder, which has been a page on our site for a while as well. However, on September 3rd it will be discontinued and the download link will be removed. Better utilities are available these days (with a real GUI too!), so it's not needed. But if you really like it, or just want a copy to archive, feel free to download it now at the source link below. Remember, September 3rd is the day.

  1. No... This was an amazing software, and was one of the first projects from this site. I am so sad to see it go. I would have liked to see new patches like a "Batch to Java" update...

  2. Well another thing that factored it's death was the Mod API coming to Minecraft 1.4. But RedstoneModder will continue to work with future versions of Minecraft, and chances are I'll release the code after I discontinue it (if someone with Batch experience wishes to pick it up).

  3. I have Batch experience. *wink wink*
But yeah. I honestly think when this new Workbench API comes into play, not only RedstoneModder but other programs like MC Patcher or ModLoader will slowly crumble as well.

  4. ModLoader is most certainly on it's way out, but MCPatcher will probably stick around for a little while until someone finds a better way to get 64x64 textures working in Minecraft.

  5. Ah. Well, just for fun, I updated your RedstoneModder to install in ModLoader, and an easier way for people to install their mods. I also changed it into a .exe as well.

  6. Glad someone decided to pick it up! Upload it somewhere when you are finished up with it, and I'll put it in an article on Sep. 6th. If it's not too much trouble, you can email the link and a brief list of changes to poweredbyredstoneblog@gmail.com.

  7. There! I sent it! I would appreciate it if you could just reply with any bugs you come across so I can fix them before September!

  8. So then I guess It said I couldn't send the file to you, so I will just post it here. It was something with your e-mail. It listed a huge error code and everything. I have no clue what that was about. Here is the e-mail. Feel free to remove this after you read this if you want.

Okay! Here is the new .zip! Also, I have reached a glitch on my side. When I click on the .exe, the icon in the lower left hand corner (the .ico picture that is blown up) displays a different picture than the one I set it to. This could be due to some ghost glitching or some temp files gone haywire, but anyway, here are the changes:
-Added a new option: Install ModLoader. This is to be done before installing any mods.-Changed the install screens/functions: Screens display different things, and player move their .zip or .jar mod files into the 'Mod' folder. It unzips it for them, and then moves it into the .jar folder.-Made it into a .exe (With that glitch. Could just be my computer though)-Changed the program name from like system32cmd or whatever to RedstoneModder.-Added a 'Open-Source' folder with the .cmd version of it so others can edit as they please.-Added a 'ModLoader' folder that has all the extracted ModLoader files.
If you find any bugs (or that glitch happens for you too), please reply so I can fix them. I also have a few more ideas. I want to fix all the bugs before Sept. when you post this.

  9. The formatting got messed up. Anyway. If you want minimal people seeing the link now, you can remove it.

  10. It seems it didn't come through. Check the address, or the file might have been too big.
