Minecraft gift cards now available at Gamestop, 'tis the season of building

It's still only available in the United Sates, but now Minecraft gift cards are available at Gamestop locations in the land of the free. This brings the total of stores with the card to Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and Gamestop. Much to the disappointment of our international readers, these are only US locations for now. You can find out what locations of each store have the card at their respective websites, but this is where you must activate them.

  1. Does anybody know if this works in Illinois. The company that sells Minecraft to other countries doesn't have a license to sell in Illinois. Would it work with these cards, though?

  4. The company that used to take credit card info for Mojang went out of business, so the new company doesn't have the license yet to sell in Illinois. I got the game before that, but my brothers want their own accounts now!

  6. Hopefully I'll be able to see if it actually works soon.

  7. I just checked the support section on Mojang's website.

"If you live within Guam or the state of Illinois, the Moneybookers website lists those locations as "coming soon". Some users have reported success by selecting a different state during the purchasing process. Alternatively, prepaid cards are now available in US retail stores."
