Minecraft Snapshot 12w49a released, Mojang working on 1.5 and 1.4.6

One day later than usual, Mojang has uploaded this week's snapshot. This snapshot is a little special, because it includes the fireworks we previously covered, enchanting books is added, and lots of bugs have been fixed. Jens said, "Thing is, we suddenly decided we wanted to make sure that you have fireworks for New Year’s Eve, so we’re working in several parallel branches of the code now. One is for the 1.5 “Redstone Update,” and one is now for a 1.4.6 patch update. This update will be out before Christmas, and 1.5 will wait until January (or possibly February)."     I think it means that you can make a book have a certain enchantment, then put it on the enchanting table to give a weapon/tool that enchantment, but thats only my guess.

    Bane of Arthropods does more damage against spiders and cave spiders I think. Pretty useless really, unless you're going raiding abandoned mineshafts.

    It's useless unless you can get a high level. If you get maybe 3 or 4 you can kill regular spiders in one shot. And of course you can use an anvil to combine enchantments.
