Daylight Detectors coming in Minecraft 1.5, villagers become useless

day

Once upon a time CaptainSparklez showed us a concept, that using villagers, pressure plates, doors, and some redstone, would create a machine that would export a output signal if it was night. Well now villagers have one less use, because Jeb from Mojang has created the Daylight Detector. This machine is rather simple - if it's day, it will output redstone signals. As with any Redstone machine you could use an inverter to make it output a signal at night, replacing the old villager method. This is one of my favorite recent additions, is it one of yours?

  2. I wouldn't say villagers become "useless" - you can still trade with them!

  6. You could use a simple redstone inverter to turn the daylight detector into a night time detector, like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3aUgx2pMqY
