Can't get into Minecraft Pocket Realms? Why not PocketMine Realms?

Note: PocketMine Realms has shut down, and you can now enter server IP addresses directly into the game. The article below is purely for historical reference, the below instructions DO NOT WORK.

Pocket Realms is currently in a free alpha phase, but once the service is made available for all it will be a monthly fee. Minecraft Pocket Edition servers hosted on PCs have existed for a while now, running on the PocketMine server software (think of it like Bukkit, but for PE). The only downside has been that you must patch your game to connect, which requires your device (if it's an iPhone/iPod/iPad) to be jail-broken. Thanks to the efforts of PocketMine developer shoghicp, you can now connect to a few select PE servers running PocketMine without modifying your device! He's posted the instructions on the PocketMine Realms site, but we've pasted it here for convenience:

First Step (iOS):

Install the PocketMine Realms profile and tap Install when asked.

First Step (Android):

Install the PocketMine certificate and follow the on-screen instructions.

 

Second Step (iOS):

Copy this text or write it down: http://peoapi.pocketmine.net/proxy.pac

Go to Settings -> Wi-Fi.
Tap the blue arrow at the right of your current network.
Go to the bottom, where it says "HTTP Proxy" and choose "Auto". Type or paste the text that you copied on the URL field.

Second Step (Android):

Go to Settings -> Wi-Fi.
Tap and hold the network to which you are connected, until a menu shows. Tap Modify Network, and if needed, tap Show Advanced options.
Go to Proxy Settings and set it to Manual.
Enter the Hostname 192.241.131.226, and the port 5555. Leave the rest fields blank.
Save your settings.
When you end playing, remove the proxy from your settings, setting the proxy to None. You've to do this to browse Internet normally.
Alternative: Instead of the Proxy Settings, change IP settings from Auto to Static, and move DNS 1 to DNS 2, and set DNS 1 as 192.241.131.226 (Powered by Redstone found this alternative method works best!)

There you go, now open MCPE on your device and click on Realms. Log in as normal and click the server that says 'Authenticate'. When it's finished it will kick you off, go back and you will see dozens of servers to play on. Now enjoy PocketMine Realms while Mojang works on the paid version :D
