Minecraft XBox 360 Edition Plastic Texture Pack revealed, no date or price yet

BVLowdpCUAAJHHi.jpg_large4J Studios, the company behind porting Minecraft to the Xbox 360 (and soon the PS3, PS4, and PS Vita) have announced the first texture pack for Minecraft Xbox 360. The texture pack, called 'Plastic Texture Pack' is a simplistic texture pack. It looks like a mix between the vanilla textures and the popular texture pack 'Sphax' for Minecraft for PC to me, but let us know what you think. 4J has yet to announce a date or price for the pack yet, but it will come "as soon as we can, but it won’t be long." We also have yet to find out if the pack will be available for Minecraft for PlayStation, when that port is released.

  2. It's Microsoft's doing, not 4J's. That being said, they also don't charge us for adding and improving the game. We get a free update every few months that adds new features + Bug Fixes. However, I have a feeling we'd pay even if Microsoft allowed free stuff like this. After all...do you work for free? Neither do the people who work on the game and add the free updates and fix the bugs for us.

I don't mind paying 2 bucks for a texture pack, as long as it looks good. I'm probably going to pass on this one, wait and see what the "Natural" Texture Pack they've also announced looks like.

  3. Keep in mind that the developer is creating this texture pack, not the community and the fans, so it will cost money for the sole reason of it being developed by 4J. Think of it as sort of a "DLC"
