Today 4J Studios, the company behind the Xbox port of Minecraft, announced a major step for Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition. The company has unveiled 'Mashup Packs', a console equivalent of modpacks on the PC.
In more detail, Mashup Packs can include texture packs, new game sounds/music, pre-built saved maps, and skins. The only confirmed Mashup Pack so far is a Mass Effect pack, which is not available yet. The Mass Effect pack will have soundtrack from the Mass Effect series, a texture pack, skins, a Mars Base map, and more.
We reached out to 4J Studios to ask if Mashup Packs are coming to the future PlayStation and Xbox One ports, but have yet to get a response. We will update when they let us know.

Well if ya ask me, it's fun that they do that, i just chek'd out the new fav. list, and it turns out that Minecraft 360 edition is the 2nd highest downloaded in august, that's great, but that leaves me to 1 question, cuz Mass effect is huge, so, which Mass-effect enemy are the Creepers going to be? xD

ReplyDeleteI don't think so due to Xbox restrictions, but not much is known about that right now. I know Dokucraft is attempting to make a mashup pack or texture pack, so if that goes well other big texture packs may follow.
