Minecraft 1.7 Prerelease now available, adds new blocks, new wood textures, and more

Not only has Mojang surprised us with a snapshot yesterday, they have done it again today! The Minecraft 1.7 Prerelease is now available to download from the launcher, and while it doesn't have much more to offer than yesterday's snapshot, it still has a few nice features and bug fixes. In today's prerelease, Oak Roof Wood has been renamed to Dark Oak Wood, all wood blocks have been re-textured except for except Oak Wood, and the tops of Birch, Spruce, and Jungle logs have their own texture. In addition, new blocks like Acacia Wood Planks/Slab/Stairs and Dark Oak Wood Planks/Slab/Stairs have arrived as well.

And, of course, there are plenty of bug fixes present in the prerelease. You can get it from the Minecraft launcher, and see the source link below for the original post by Mojang
