Minecraft 1.7.1 to be released tomorrow, titled "The update that changed the World"

mclogoTomorrow, one of the biggest updates for Minecraft will be arriving to launchers everywhere. Today on Twitter, head Minecraft developer Jens said "In case you were wondering, Minecraft 1.7 (1.7.1), "The Update that Changed the World", will be released tomorrow, at around 15:00 CEST." Interestingly, Mojang has skipped 1.7 and headed straight for 1.7.1.

The release adds a huge amount of features, most notably double the amount of biomes, new fish, new wood blocks, an overhauled achievement system, packed sand, red sand, new flowers, and Herobrine (just kidding about that last one....maybe o.o). You can see the original tweet at the link below.
