Minecarts in Minecraft Pocket Edition 0.8.0!

We have known for a while that Minecarts would arrive in Minecraft Pocket Edition 0.8.0, but today our first peek at them in-game has been revealed. Today Johan, a developer of Minecraft PE, tweeted the above screenshot with the caption "Minecarts are working!" Also visible int the screenshot are normal and powered rails, but there is no redstone powering it. It's fairly obvious that some bugs need to be worked out by looking at the screenshot, as the player's head is rotated 180 degrees instead of his body. But at least it's a start!

    Finally, i had 3 updates and was hoping one was minecraft, but unfortunately not for a little while :( although the snapshots are coming out more frequently now... Does this mean we are closer to the update than expected???

    It's supposed to come out sometime in Q1 of 2014, or January 1 - March 31 of next year.

    Q1 2014 is 0.9.0. Minecraft PE 0.8.0 will come out by Christmas.

    No, we are still about a month away from the update. The developers have said 0.8.0 is pretty buggy right now, and they are creating the beta program to bug test on a massive scale.

    Different companies are working on the versions. Mojang is working on PE, 4J Studios is working on Minecraft for consoles.

    You'll get it. Just hold it down like you would milking cows. I don't think there will be a video because that wouldn't be very interesting. Soon you'll be able to make awesome roller coasters. Since the update had come up, I'm making a giant Fun Land.
