New commenting rule: no asking for update release dates

A few weeks back we established a set of rules for commenting to ensure our comments would stay a clean and safe area. We have a lot of younger people visiting our site, so the same day we also put in motion an automatic filter to cut back on bad language. Today we are establishing a new commenting rule: no asking for release dates for Minecraft updates. Our comments recently have been little more than "when is pocket edition 0.8.0 coming out?"

Today we are starting to automatically filter out all comments relating to "when is [xyz] coming out". In addition, there is now a box on the right side of every page (below the main content if you are on mobile) that lists the release date for every future version of every edition of Minecraft we know about. We hope this will replace the need for constantly asking when a new release is coming out. Pertaining to Pocket Edition, every article we write will state the current known release date of Pocket Edition at the bottom.

Talk to you soon,

Corbin Davenport

  3. When will Minecraft be made on Wii U? Are there any plans or should my hopes die now?

  5. Sorry, but there's not much of a chance. I don't think Mojang is interested in making a Wii U port. I think it would be the perfect game for the Wii U because of it's general younger audience, but oh well :/

  9. when will that be out?

  10. They won't sign a deal unless both Nintendo and Mojang are very interested. Neither company really seems to want Minecraft Wii U Edition to happen.
