Minecraft Pocket Edition 0.8.0 released on Kindle, Android, and iPhone

Today Mojang has announced that Minecraft Pocket Edition 0.8.0 is now available to download from the Kindle Store, Android Play Store, and Apple App Store. This time around all three platforms are releasing the game at around the same time, marking one of the smoothest updates we have seen in a while (Amazon usually takes much longer).

Mojang said on their blog, "Since the first release of Minecraft – Pocket Edition, we’ve added a bunch of new thing and made massive improvements to the way things look. Get ready for the biggest update yet! We hope you enjoy it!" You can take a look at the changelog on our last article about PE 0.8.0. I have recieved the update on my Android phone, and others are confirming the release on iOS and Kindle as well.

Looking to the future, Minecraft Pocket Edition 0.9.0 will be available in Q1 2014 (sometime from Jan 1st-Mar 31st) and will feature infinite worlds, caves, and more. In the meantime, tell us what you are enjoying most about the update below in the comments!

    Try undownloading then downloading it again; that's how I got my app updated.

    You can mine redstone with an iron, gold, or diamond pickaxe.
