Minecraft PS4 Edition failed certification, will be delayed

Last August, Mojang announced that Minecraft would be available at launch for the PlayStation 4. Now, almost a year after the PS4 was released, it's still not here (or for the Vita, or Xbox One). Back in May, 4J Studios finally promised a release date for the Xbox One, PS4, and Vita - sometime in August. Unfortunately, it seems like the PS4 Edition has been delayed again because it failed certification testing by Sony.

Certification testing is a process conducted by Sony and Microsoft after 4J Studios submits an update to them. Their job is to play the game, and ensure there are no game-breaking bugs. There must have been a lot of bugs in the PS4 Edition, because Sony has rejected PS4 Edition.

4J Studios now has to fix the bugs Sony reported to them and re-submit, making an August release date unlikely. It's unclear if the launch of the Xbox One or Vita editions will be affected by it. See the source link for the original tweet.
