Minecraft Xbox One/PS4 Editions wont come in August

4J Studios, the developers of the console editions of Minecraft, took to Twitter this morning to announce the status of Minecraft on the Xbox One, PS4, and Vita, so let's get right to it! Firstly, a minor update is coming to Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition and PS3 Edition. It adds the ability to copy your worlds from an Xbox 360 to an Xbox One (or from a PS3 to a PS4), but it's unclear if it will make the worlds bigger in the process.

For easier reading, here's the status of every edition of Minecraft on consoles:

  • Minecraft PS4 Edition: It originally failed certification testing, but 4J Studios has re-submitted it. Approximately two weeks until release, assuming it doesn't fail again.

  • Minecraft Xbox One Edition: It hasn't been submitted for certification testing yet.

  • Minecraft Vita Edition: Same as the Xbox One Edition, it hasn't been submitted for testing by Sony.

  • Minecraft PS3/360 Edition: A small update is coming that will allow moving saves to newer consoles, TU17 likely hasn't even started development yet.

That should help clear up any confusion. See the source link for the original tweets.
