PlayStation Vita TV coming to North America, aka the $99 Minecraft console

Minecraft for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Vita is just on the horizon, coming either this month or next month. The PlayStation Vita is Sony's handheld console, known for it's enhanced graphics over other handhelds and integration with PlayStation services. The PlayStation Vita TV is like the weird brother of the Vita - it's a small box that connects to your TV that can play Netflix, YouTube, stream games from your PS4, and even play Vita games.

Today Sony announced that the $99 Vita TV is officially coming to North America. In addition to the services that have been available since it launched in Japan, it advertises support for Sony's future game streaming service PlayStation Now.

The PlayStation Vita TV has recieved less than favorable reviews, Engadget citing issues with the interface and media streaming. Still, it can play Vita games and stream the rest - which means it's a $99 Minecraft console. The competitor Amazon Fire TV is also priced $99 and can play Minecraft with a controller - but it's still Pocket Edition. You can get the PS Vita TV for pre-order at the source link below.
