Minecraft Vita Edition now available for download

Minecraft for the PlayStation Vita was developed alongside the PS4 and Xbox One ports, but was delayed several times and rejected by Sony in review for bugs. But today Vita Edition is finally available worldwide on the PlayStation Store.

The game is $19.99 USD, and is a cross-buy title for the PS3. This means if you already own the game on PlayStation 3, it's free on Vita (or vice-versa). If you only own the PlayStation 4 Edition, you will have to cough up $4.99 USD to upgrade. Transferring maps from other editions is not supported, due to the Vita map size being smaller than the PS3 map size.

The game is now live on the PlayStation Store to download if you're up for it. GameStop currently lists the disc version will be available December 31st, 2014, but this is most likely a placeholder and will change once they get an actual date.

  2. The person who wrote this post is an idiot. The Vita version was never rejected by Sony, that was the PS4 version and the Vita version is the same as the PS3 version so you can put PS3 maps on the vita version.
