  2. I don't think boats are being added in this update, it's a shame cos I was really excited when they mentioned boats. They should be in the next update 0.11.0

  10. Have you noticed that this is the first PE update since microsoft bought Mojang? I am just saying...

  11. I actually believe that this sort of "bug fix"/polishing update was planned to be released after 0.9.0 because of how big that update was. Microsoft just happened to purchase Mojang at the time, but this 0.10.0 update was probably planned beforehand. :)

  12. That is how I usually see it, but for the sake of conspiracies and what fans want to hear, it makes it sound better to blame it on microsoft :p.
I hope that they decide to add something else new, maybe trading with villagers? Those emeralds won't use themselves :).

  13. I see your point, and I hope Microsoft continues the greatness of Minecraft. ;)

  14. I have no doubt that they will, microsoft has made some of my favorite games (before Minecraft). the real question will be whether or not the fans will justify their decisions. Before being bought out, Mojang was the maker of Minecraft. Mojang was Minecraft, pretty much. Whatever they did was Minecraft, so no one could argue with it. Now, Mojang is part of Microsoft. Therefore, Microsoft is controlling Mojang. This means that if they do anything that the fans don't like, they can get upset, because they can say "this isn't minecraft."

I think it is unfortunate that Mojang was bought out before some major features of Minecraft were finished. For example, Mojang once said they would like to add a social aspect to the game. It is much more likely that if Microsoft does add this feature, it will follow a Microsoft platform, and will feel different and look different. Another was Realms, which recently got a more complete update. I believe that Realms is not done yet and there will be more features, but who knows what it will be.

I apologize for my mini-essay, but I just want to say, there are plenty of reasons to celebrate Microsoft buying minecraft. It is not all bad. One of mine and my brother's biggest complains of minecraft was that Notch kept acting as if it was a small project. He didn't take major opportunities to increase the game (oculus rift, AVG, etc.) these would be fine if it was just your small iphone app that you made in your spare time and didn't want to jump on the bandwagon with all these advancements, but that is not, and really never was, Minecraft. The only reason the fans were fine with it is because Notch was the crafter of Minecraft. But he's gone now, and Microsoft is at the helm. They get to decide how big they want to be and I think it will really release the potential of Minecraft. Even if it seems all downhill, this could be a great future for Minecraft, let's just hope that Microsoft makes the best decisions, and that we can try to justify them.

P.S. Oh and can you imagine what would happen if Apple bought Mojang? Yah I don't want to think about that possibility either...
    ;)

  15. Your mini-essay [ :) ] brings up many good points. I read about something doing with a social thing in Minecraft with friends and etc., and Microsoft will probably add something like Xbox LIVE too it, which might not be bad, depending on how they design it.

Another thing is that since there has been more hate than like on Microsoft's purchase, everything Microsoft does will be hated unless it is something everybody (yes, everybody!) wants, even if it were earlier planned by Mojang.

Just something to think about! :)

  16. That's true, and like we've been saying, it all boils down to the fans because the fans are the customers and without customers Microsoft won't get any money! Let's hope Microsoft can manage this, it will be interesting to see what the future brings.

P.S. Something interesting, when you go to Mojang.com and "about" (where they list all the workers at Mojang) it still includes Notch. Kinda odd since he no longer works there...

  17. Yes, and only the fans can tell what the future holds, unless Microsoft wants to really mess up this acquisition of a game with such a large fan-base. Also, about Mojang.com , they probably just want to note that Notch once created this game, or they're just too lazy to fix it and are working on goodies for the game!
