While disc versions of Minecraft for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 have existed for a while, no disc versions for current-gen consoles are out. It looks like that's changing, because starting today retailers are selling disc versions of Minecraft: Xbox One Edition.

Besides the nifty-looking box art, there's no real advantage to the disc version than the downloadable version. You don't have the download it, but even on slower internet connections Minecraft downloads fairly quickly. However if you were planning on gifting someone Minecraft for this holiday season, this makes a much nicer package than a bland Xbox gift card.
Retail disc versions of Minecraft: PS4 Edition is also scheduled for this month, with an unannounced date for Vita Edition.
