Mojang officially states it has no authority over MC servers

Today on the company's blog, Mojang made a post regarding servers. Undoubtedly the result of a lot of people complaining to Mojang about getting ripped off/offended by community servers, Mojang (once again) has stepped up to sort things out.

As they have said countless times before, the blog post wrote "We’re not responsible for the content on third party servers. [...] We’re also not responsible for the way these servers take payments or store users’ credentials online." They went on to say:
"That said, unmodded Minecraft for PC/Mac, the console versions, and Minecraft: Realms are our responsibility. We do our best to provide a safe, secure experience and keep things as fun as possible."

Nothing new here, but in case you haven't been in the loop, now you know. They also made a point of allowing any content on community servers as long as they follow the EULA, but what remains to be seen is what happens when Mojang threatens a take-down. So far there seems to have not been any public case of that happening, but there's always a first for everything.
