New characters from Halo 5: Guardians coming to Minecraft on Xbox

There has been a Halo-themed mashup pack available for Minecraft on Xbox 360/One for some time now. In just a few days on October 27th, Halo 5: Guardians will be released for the Xbox One - and an update to the Halo mashup pack is in tow.

The new update has eight new skins to choose from, from the iconic Master Chief to members of the new Fireteam Osiris. Here's the full list of new characters from Xbox Wire:

Blue Team:

  • Spartan-117 The Master Chief

  • Spartan-104 Fredric

  • Spartan-087 Kelly

  • Spartan-058 Linda

Fireteam Osiris:

  • Spartan Locke

  • Spartan Buck

  • Spartan Tanaka

  • Spartan Vale

The pack already includes a custom UI for Minecraft, the 40 existing skins, and several maps. The pack is available to purchase for $3.99 if you haven't grabbed it already, and the update is free if you have. The pack will be available on Xbox Live October 23rd, so you can get some Minecraft in before jumping into Halo.

Xbox Wire also reports the pack will be available for Minecraft on Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Xbox Live currently reports the pack as only compatible with Minecraft: XBox 360 Edition, so if I'm not mistaken this means the pack hasn't been available for Xbox One owners until this update.
