Minecraft: Wii U Edition officially announced, coming December 17

The story of Minecraft on the Wii U has been a long one, but it's finally happening. After being rumored for years, leaked last month by PEGI, and then said leak pulled by PEGI after everyone found out anyways, today it was officially confirmed by Mojang.

They wrote on their company blog, "That’s a surprise, eh?* Anyway, now it’s 100% official. Minecraft is launching on Nintendo’s Wii U console on December 17th. It’ll cost $29:99 or equivalent, will be available to download on the eShop, and comes bundled with six of our most popular add-on packs. There’s even a Festive mash-up included just in time for the holidays." This lines up with the recently-released Holiday Pack for Xbox One, which also includes a number of popular DLC.

Moajang said they will have more to share in the coming days, but they did confirm off-TV play using the Wii U's Gamepad. As previously leaked, the game will have a PEGI rating of 7+ and an ESRB rating of 10+.

  3. One time someone said action/violence because he was holding a pickaxe....

Also, I think it's pretty awesome to have off screen play. Just like pocket edition. (Sorta)
