Realms is Mojang's official server hosting service, which is probably the fastest and easiest way to make a multiplayer server for your friends. You can invite people, manage your server, and install maps straight from inside Minecraft.
In the spirit of giving this season, Mojang is lowering the prices of a Realms subscription across the board. The options for pricing are a bit complicated, so here's a brief summary:
