Minecraft PS4 Edition won't launch with the console, 4J confirms in tweet

Looking forward to getting a shiny new PlayStation 4 on November 15th with Minecraft PS4 Edition? Sorry to burst your bubble, but 4J Studios says otherwise. Back on August 20th, Sony made a post on their PlayStation Google Plus that Minecraft would be a PS4 Launch Title. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, this is no longer true. Today 4J Studios tweeted, "We're hard at work getting Minecraft: PS3 Edition ready for testing just now. The other platforms & TU14 will be later." Not only does this suggest that the PS4 version will not be ready on release day, it also confirms that development of the XBox 360 version is on hold as well.

4J Studios confirmed that Minecraft for the PS4 would not be available at launch in a reply on Twitter, saying "No, it won't be a launch title." They continued in another reply with "No confirmed dates yet - we'll let you know when we have dates for the other platforms." It's possible that the PlayStation ports of Minecraft are not close to completion, as neither the PS3 or PS4 port was showcased at Minecon. We will have to wait a little longer to play Minecraft on Sony consoles, it seems.
