Electronic Arts has been known to buy smaller companies for several years, but this is a bit of a jump. He went on to announce that Minecraft would be re-branded as SimCity 5, which promises new features like mob invasions and better performing multiplayer. EA did not comment on the future of 0x10c, Cobalt, or Scrolls (in development games by Mojang) although it is likely they will be scrapped.
