Minecraft announced for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita consoles

pspToday, after a year of Xbox exclusivity, Minecraft is finally coming to another console. Today Mojang announced that Minecraft for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles is currently in development. The announcement took place during Sony's PlayStation press event (also at their Twitch.tv channel if you want to watch the whole thing) and has both Minecraft and PlayStation fans in a frenzy. I own a PlayStation 3, and needless to say I was jumping for joy when I read my Twitter feed.

Notch said that Minecraft would not only be released for the upcoming PlayStation 4 at launch, but also to the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita (PS Vita). We don't have much information at the moment, but we assume that 4J Studios (the company responsible for bringing Minecraft to the Xbox 360, and soon, the Xbox One) will be handling the PlayStation ports as well. We will update you when more information becomes available, but not before I stop dancing.
