Minecraft for consoles to have more server-like features

BiYgt7_CIAARkPk

The console versions of Minecraft are extremely limited in capabilities, like no mod or commands support. But it looks like at least teleportation and flying, which is possible in Minecraft on the PC, may be coming to consoles. Today 4J Studios, the gaming development studio responsible for all console versions of Minecraft, showed the above screenshot (we have adjusted it for slightly better visibility). Although the menu is in Swedish, it roughly translates to 'Moderator Steve 4J can teleport'. The large button translates to 'kick player', and the various checkboxes below translate to 'can fly' and 'switch off hunger'.

This is certainly interesting for console players, as they can now manage their world more like a server. The TU14 update for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4 are expected to be released around May (estimated, and it may change because it's not an official date).

For Minecraft Pocket Edition there is a setting in the options where you can turn on and of the local server multiplayer. When it's on people that is on your wifi can join you, when it's of they can see that your on but will not allow them to join. Hoped that helped! :)

Not exactly, but probably in 1.0.0 since Johan mentioned that would be the big redstone-ish update.
