Piston Development Update #2

piston-Recovered

It's been two days since our last development update, and we've made a lot of progress. As you can see from the picture, we completely redesigned Piston's logo with feedback from our Google Plus/Twitter followers. As far as actual development goes, we have finished our automated build process and automatic upload, so the modpack can be created and uploaded to Technic fully automatically now (previously it still had to be uploaded manually). We also have it semi-working in the Technic Launcher:

Unfortunately Piston still crashes on startup, which is a problem with the Forge modloader we haven't been able to fix yet. Once Forge is fully working we can start adding mods and release the modpack! We are planning on having two versions of Piston: a stable version that is checked by us to work properly that will be updated every week or so, and a beta/unstable version that is updated every day (automatically) and hasn't been checked by us to work. That's it for now, hopefully we can get Piston fully working soon!

Looking Good! Hopefully this can come out soon so I don't need to install these mods anymore!

Just a little question about Technic: Is it as easy to install as Forge? Because I don't know if I want to do a lot for Technic and then find out that I like all my Forge stuff better.

Technic Launcher is fairly easy to install and works well, you can get it from here and try it out: http://www.technicpack.net/download

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you asking if the Technic Launcher is as easy to install as Forge?

Metaflyer just download the Technic Launcher/Platform and click on the modpack you want press play and it will auto install all the mods in the modpack for you. Some of the mods take longer then others but once its done you will be able to play the modpack. Hoped this helped :)!

Cool, are you going to include the shaders mod? It is optimized to run really well now :D

It's far easier than Forge. Just download it here and open it like the Minecraft jar and it will do the rest: http://www.technicpack.net/download
