13892369984_5c87b8a681_o4J Studios and Sony announced today that Minecraft PS3 Edition will be available as a physical game starting May 16th. Presently, the game is only available as a digital download on the PlayStation Network (similar to how Xbox Edition was initially only available on the Xbox Live Arcade). But this May, the game will be available to physically purchase on disc at retail game stores worldwide. They said on the article:
Following on from the successful release we’re pleased to confirm that Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition will be available on disc from 14th May, 2014 in all PAL regions. That means you can go into a real-life store, buy it with your country’s currency of choice, then take it home in a little bag.

Unfortunately 4J Studios's classic 'don't say until we are 100% sure' unspoken rule is still in effect with this announcement, as they did not reveal anything about any of the other editions. They did release some box art, which I think looks pretty awesome. But still, we are left in the dark about any news regarding the Xbox One, PS4, or PS Vita editions of Minecraft. We've embedded the trailer on our YouTube channel above, and the box art on the right. You can check out the full news story at the source link.
