Minecraft Pocket Edition 0.9.0 officially delayed to June, again

We predicted earlier this month that there was little chance that Minecraft Pocket Edition would be released during May. If that were true, there would already be one or two betas relased. But since Mojang is still fixing bugs we predicted it would come later, and it looks like we were right. Today on Twitter, Jens (a developer for Minecraft and Minecraft PE) said:
I know everybody (who is waiting for the PE update) is waiting for the PE update, but we don't have a release date yet. June, maybe?

Minecraft PE 0.9.0 is apparently already in a playable state, but the developers cite memory problems and bugs the reason why the update is not available yet. This marks the second time MCPE 0.9.0 has been delayed from it's original late March release date. On Reddit, Tommaso (another MCPE developer) said:
We never want to tell, but people hardly ask us anything else these days! Anyway right now the game is definitely playable and we are pretty satisfied of how it plays, we still need to address some performance & memory problem + add a couple of small features. And of course, bug fixes.

So there you have it, basically what everyone expected. The developers as of late have reported working on both strongholds and immersive mode support for Android 4.4 devices (which hides the on-screen navigation buttons if your device has them). Maybe if we are lucky, MCPE 0.9.0 will be released before Half-Life 3.
