MinecraftEdu adds user security, better assignment management, and more

MinecraftEdu is a variation of Minecraft designed to be used in classrooms, with mod support and an interface for teachers and students alike built-in. It is currently only available to schools, but today it got an update.

Minecraft Edu 1.6.4 Build 20 adds support for multiple assignment management (allowing teachers to track students' progress as they go through their assignments), the ability for students to password-protect their accounts, a (currently light) block inspector, home blocks that allow students to teleport home, and improved support for frozen mode and mods.

This latest stable build of MinecraftEdu is still based on Minecraft 1.6.4, with a newer version based on 1.7 promised for this summer. See the source link below for the full changelog.
