Worried that your recently-outdated console, Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, won't get the latest and greatest of Minecraft? Not to worry, you won't be left in the dark. Roger Carpenter, lead producer for Minecraft on Xbox 360 and Xbox One, has confirmed that development for older consoles will continue. He said this earlier on his Twitter account:
He is only the producer for Minecraft on both Xbox consoles, and has no affiliation with the PlayStation Edition. But it's safe to assume that 4J Studios will continue to support the PS3 just as long as the 360.
Of course the last-gen versions of Minecraft will not gain specific features that are in the PS4 and XBox One versions, like larger worlds and 8-person multiplayer. See the source link for the original tweet.

"Stopping X360 updates because of Next Gen versions? ...err, no we're not stopping making updates for X360 :)"
