Steam is the the biggest online game store for PC games in existence, with over 3,000 games available to buy (as of Jan 2014). And although Minecraft will likely never make it to Steam (Mojang explained it would complicate logins), you can add Minecraft to your Steam launcher easily. Not only does it allow you to open Minecraft just like a Steam game, it also enables the Steam Game Overlay while you're playing. Here's how to do it:
What you need:
Guide:
First, open Steam and click on the 'Add A Game' button in the lower left corner. Click 'Add a Non-Steam game'.
In the window that opens, press Browse.
Now browse to the location of Minecraft on your computer, and click open.
Minecraft should be selected in the Add A Game window now, so click 'Add Selected Programs'.
Congratulations, you have added Minecraft to your Steam launcher. Click Play and enjoy!
