Minecraft Pocket Edition 0.10.0 submitted to Apple

While the Android port finishes up development, Minecraft Pocket Edition 0.10.0 has been submitted for review to the Apple App Store. This means that in anywhere from a few days to about two weeks (rough estimate), iOS users will get to enjoy the latest and greatest that Minecraft PE has to offer.

If you're an Android user, you're probably wondering why it hasn't been submitted to the Google Play Store/Amazon Marketplace yet. While Apple takes their sweet time reviewing the game, Mojang will continue to fix any remaining bugs on Android. Minecraft PE updates always arrive on the same day on all platforms.

While there isn't a list of devices (or iOS versions) supported by 0.10.0, it's safe to assume the system requirements haven't been raised. The graphical upgrade to OpenGL ES 2.0 (or 3.0, depending on what device you have) doesn't raise requirements but does improve performance on both old and new devices.

Old devices impacted by the poor performance of 0.9.0 might notice an improvement, but there's really no way to tell right now since...well...it's not out yet. But as Mojang's unofficial motto says, "it's coming soon™".
