Microsoft editor called Minecraft "basically Lego, but more digital"

You might recall Adam Kovic from Machinima becoming famous for calling Far Cry 3, when it was originally announced, "like Skyrim with guns." While this may or may not be true, it quickly became a meme and was even on the cover of some Far Cry 3 boxes at one point. And now, Microsoft has (inadvertently) done the same thing to Minecraft.

Charlie Thorogood (which sounds like someone from Skyrim) wrote an article on Microsoft's company blog about Minecraft. In a noble effort to explain the appeal of the game, he wrote this:
Minecraft is basically Lego. Except the blocks don't have nobbles on top and they're, well... on a computer. But other than that, it's basically Lego.

So did Microsoft just make a meme? Maybe, there's certainly already people making fun of that statement:

Even better, Minecraft PC developer Nathan Adams (better known as Dinnerbone) retweeted the above post. So at least he, and possibly other Mojang people, think Microsoft slipped up. Better luck next time, Microsoft.
