Minecraft soundtrack coming out on CD and Vinyl on August 21st

The soundtrack to Minecraft, named Minecraft Volume Alpha, has been available to purchase online in stores like iTunes and Google Play for some time now - but it's finally getting a physical release. C418 (the composer) partnered with The Ghostly Store to create physical copies of the soundtrack.

Minecraft Volume Alpha will be available through The Ghostly Store as downloadable MP3s ($10), A CD and the MP3s ($12), and Vinyl and MP3s ($19). That's right, if you love storing music on archaic storage formats, you will be able to purchase Minecraft Volume Alpha on a vinyl record. There's also a special green transparent vinyl package that also includes MP3 downloads for $28, but there is only 1,000 copies.

All MP3s are encoded at 320kb/s, which is pretty much the same as everywhere else (so don't expect it so sound any better). You can purchase Minecraft Volume Alpha in your desired format(s) below, but be quick if you want to pre-order the green vinyl!

  1. I never even knew there was a commercial soundtrack for Minecraft. I just got the .OGGs from the .Minecraft folder and converted them to .MP3s.
I might buy a physical release, it'll be a good collectors item

  2. I don't want to listen to the music in game and I don't want to listen to it in real life! in reality it is great for relaxing just not for building a city. just my opinion.

I'd just burn the tracks to a blank disc
