Minecraft: Story Mode will be revealed at Minecon 2015

Near the end of last year, Mojang announced a surprise to everyone - the first spin-off Minecraft game. Developed by Telltale Games, and in the same style as their other games (interactive storybook basically), basically nothing was announced about the game. We know that it will follow the life of Steve in Minecraft, it will not be cannon (which means it is separate from the official Minecraft storyline, or lack therof), and it will be released for both desktop and mobile platforms.

The only date we've had so far is that the first 'episode' will be released this year, but now we have a little more to go on. Today, Telltale games tweeted this:

That isn't really much to go on either, but at least we know more will be revealed about the game and (hopefully) a release date. Only time will tell.

Note: There seems to be some confusion over the name. Despite the name, 'Minecraft: Story Mode' is a completely seperate game from Minecraft and will not be a new mode in Minecraft PC. It will not be free to current owners of Minecraft on any platform.
