Counterfeit Minecraft toys being sold in large numbers on eBay

What happens when you have any popular trademarked product that kids love? There's going to be counterfeit rip-offs. Unfortunately the market for Minecraft-themed unlicensed toys seems to be getting bigger by the day.

Powered by Redstone reader 'jutman22' sent us an email that he purchased some Minecraft merchandise from various sellers on eBay UK. Unfortunately, they all turned out to be unlicensed, low-quality items. He reported to us several sellers that were distributing the fake merchandise, obviously with no indication on any page that the items were not Mojang-licensed.

He reported the eBay sellers hally88stayreal2013, and 2014jerryxiao were selling fake items. He also said he reported them to eBay, but the company wouldn't remove the items unless contacted by the seller. We won't link to the specific items, but one of them is pictured above.

If you're in the market for Minecraft-themed merchandise, all official items are available at JINX. Be careful out there!

  2. Always trust the official website only! (Did anyone else notice that when you add HTTPS in front of the URL it goes to the same website but you get a message saying that the certificate is not trusted??)

  3. HTTPS doesn't mean it's an official website, it just means the connection is more secure.

  4. But there is an HTTP *and* an HTTPS version of this website. Just add *https://* in front of the URL and you'll get the same PBR, but with HTTPS.
