Minecon 2015, the annual Minecraft convention hosted by Mojang, starts tomorrow in London, England. Before the swarm of news hits from the event, here's our predictions for Minecon 2015.
There's our predictions for Minecon 2015. And as always, there's the slim change Mojang might bring Minecraft: Pi Edition back from the dead. Ah, who are we kidding...
- Minecraft 1.9: It's very possible at least something about Minecraft 1.9 will be announced at the event. It's almost been a year since Minecraft 1.8 was released (it was released September 2nd last year), making this the longest gap between major releases in Minecraft history. We already know it is called 'The Combat Update', will focus on adding features instead of rewriting the game's code (like in 1.8), and obviously will have lots of new combat-related features.
- Minecraft: Story Mode: We already know for a fact that Minecraft: Story Mode will be revealed at Minecon 2015, but I wouldn't bet on it being released before the event ends. More likely a release date will be announced.
- Minecraft: Pocket Edition 0.12.0: We aren't really counting on any news or information about Pocket Edition being announced at Minecon, but it's possible.
- Minecraft on consoles: Same as above, a pretty big update for Minecraft on consoles literally came out yesterday, so it's hard to believe anything new will be shown at Minecon. Some new Mashup Packs might be announced, or something to that extent.
- Minecraft HoloLens Edition: Minecraft for HoloLens was first demonstrated at E3 2015, it's possible more details (or live demos for guests) will be at Minecon 2015. We still don't really know anything about what the game itself has feature-wise (besides that it's based on Pocket Edition), so more details about what it has compared to PC edition would be nice.
