We've written about PocketMine-MP, a dedicated server program for Minecraft: Pocket Edition (and soon, Windows 10 Edition) developed by Shoghi Cervantes. PocketMine is written in PHP, which means it can run on just about anything with good performance. PocketMine currently supports running on top of Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and even jailbroken iOS - and with a little bit of hacking it can run on anything else that PHP has been ported to.
The next major version of the PHP language, PHP7, is scheduled to be released sometime around October. Cervantes said PHP7 will enable PocketMine to run at least twice as fast, which is great news if you want to run a Pocket Edition server on an older computer or mobile device.
But the move to PHP7 comes at a small cost - some plugins will not be compatible at first. Cervantes wrote a short post in the source link below explaining some changes that plugins might have to make to be compatible with PocketMine API 2.0 (which will first appear in PocketMine 1.6). He said most plugins should work with no changes, but others will require minor adjustments.
PocketMine 1.6 is currently in development, which will support Minecraft Pocket Edition 0.12.0 and Windows 10 Edition. It's release date is currently unknown, but you can get 1.5 (compatible with PE 0.11.0) from the development build here.
