Johan Bernhardsson leaving Mojang

Johan Bernhardsson has done a tremendous amount of work for Minecraft: Pocket Edition over the years, but back in June he announced he was leaving the Pocket Edition team. He then moved to work on the updated Minecraft launcher for Mac, which officially launched today. It appears that the OS X launcher was Johan's last hurrah at Mojang, as this was his last day at the company.

Johan was one of the original Minecraft Pocket Edition developers, long before Jens moved to work on both Minecraft PC and Pocket Edition. Since then, several new developers have joined development of the game. We wish you best of luck Johan!
