Minecraft Pocket Edition 0.12.0 will be released September 8th

Minecraft Pocket Edition 0.11.0 was released back in June, but sneak previews of 0.12.0 (specifically, a screenshot of the in-game Nether dimension) had been teased before then. MCPE 0.12.0 was originally scheduled to be released on July 29th, alongside Microsoft's releases of Windows 10 and Minecraft Windows 10 Edition, but it was delayed to an unspecified date about a week before.

As a matter of fact, Windows 10 Edition was launched with several features which were at the time being developed for 0.12.0, including a functional Nether and new potions. The first beta of Windows 10 Edition was most likely based in part on 0.12.0 development code, giving us an early sneak peak of what 0.12.0 would bring.

The time is finally upon us - Minecraft PE 0.12.0 might finally be released on September 8th. Mr. Checci over at Mojang tweeted the below message to the hordes of Minecraft PE fans that follow him:

Are you hyped yet? How about now? Are you hyped now? It's likely it won't be delayed, as it has already been sent for review to the Apple App Store, but anything is possible.
